Pro Wrestling Etiquette: Screw Everyone Blue

For years, I've said many people need an etiquette lesson. They need to learn the rights and wrongs of how to behave in public and how to treat people. But, in direct response to a recent screw job, one of many I've experienced in wrestling over the years, I've decided to speak out in public. It is obvious to most that those who have the smallest claims to fame have the biggest egos about what they've done. I've had people who are known for who their brother is or for their brief time at the top give me lip or act as though they were the second coming of Christ. But, none has ticked me off as much as the latest example of "Look at me, I'm soneone". That person's claim to fame? They design posters for local area wrestling shows and get taken for money by wrestlers who know they're a mark. Someone give me my shades, I think the gleem of this star is just too bright for me. A few weeks ago, we were promised an interview with Bret "The Hitman" Hart. This is the interview that has eluded me my entire time in the wrestling business... I have gotten Hulk Hogan but for some reason, Bret Hart just won't do our show or we can't line it up to where it actually happens. So, we naturally were interested in hearing what he had to say and promoting what he had to promote... After all, a little promotion is a small price to pay for an interview that will be the culmination of a lot of hard work over the years. But, that didn't play out the way I hoped it would. In fact, it didn't play out at all. Fast forward a few weeks. I've not heard anything about the interview and I am starting to realize that I am getting taken for a ride. So, I call him on it. The Sun, because he's such a big star you see, tells me that he now can't get me Bret Hart because Bret Hart doesn't do "publicity stunts". You know for a star that shines so bright, you'd think this poster boy mark would have some smarts. There is a clear difference between an interview and a publicity stunt. There also is a clear difference between a wrestler and a 20 year old untrained kid that tells people he is one. I am sick and tired of being jerked around by little jerks who think they can do whatever they want and nobody will ever call them on it, question them on it, or even do anything about it. I can't do much. But, I can tell you that I will not promote the event that The Sun is supposed to be finnancially backing which I highly doubt to begin with. I also have learned my lesson and will not do any business with anyone who has nothing but bad things to say about everyone they work with. Chances are, if everyone else is wrong and you have nothing nice to say about them, the problem isn't with everyone. It is with that one person who seems to never be satisfied and seems to never want to say anything nice about anyone to anyone. That isn't how you get ahead. And, I will not assist in getting anyone like that ahead any longer. Pro wrestling etiquette seems to be "screw the world as long as I'm paid". I will never be that way. My wife will never be that way. My entire web site was built against this. We built this site with the etiquette of being by the fans, for the fans. As we get deeper in the business side of wrestling, we are still a fan doing it. We're insiders that actually give a damn about the wrestling business and the way we are looked upon as a whole. We don't bash everyone. We keep most of our bad feelings to ourself. But, I can speak for myself when I say I've had enough of arrogant children running down this business and breaking the spirit of those in it by lying and making false promises.
