Date: 9/24/09
Your Hosts: Patrick Kelley, James Walsh, & Nick Noel
Special Contributors: Erik Clancy & Andres Salamanca
What a rip roaring good time it was when we welcomed the former 1-2-3 Kid,
Syxx, X-Pac, and a myriad of other names all of which were well known and
respected in the business... We welcome Sean Waltman to the show for the
first time ever!
What an interview it was as Sean really does not hold back on any topic and
shoots from the hip. We even get into a discussion on how he butted heads
with members of the Kliq as it pertained to Bret "The Hitman" Hart who Waltman
credits as "making him" in their face VS face match from RAW all those years
ago. Yes, this is a surprising and yet incredibly cordial and enjoyable interview
that we could not be happier to bring you because we could not have been
happier to have been part of it ourselves.
Waltman also is now accepting bookings through our booking agency at
http://www.WrestleBookings.com. This is the first time that Waltman has ever truthfully been actively
looking for independent wrestling bookings. So, if you want this former WWE,
WCW, and TNA superstar that was a member of both the groundbreaking nWo and
DX to appear at your upcoming event, all you have to do is contact us at
http://www.WrestleBookings.com.

SEAN WALTMAN
- The interview begins with a discussion about what he's been doing lately.
Waltman is making an appearance at the Signamania event with Hall & Nash,
and he talks about how much fun he has with those two.
- He is also working for AAA in Mexico, and just got off a tour in Ireland.
According to him, the work in Mexico is very different from what he's used
to in the states. He says that the way the business is run, its almost like
the way it was run in the states 30 years ago. He prefers the American style
of wrestling, but says that there are very talented guys that he gets to
work with like Cibernetico, Zorro, & La Parka.
- One thing he talks about for AAA is that the announcers are terrible. He's
had it translated for him and he says its really poor, but AAA has nothing
to do with that as the announcers were hired by the TV network. This then
leads into comparing them to US announcers and Waltman puts over Michael
Cole, Jim Ross, Gordon Solie, & Tony Schivone.
- Going back to the Lucha Libre style, he says that alot of them don't know
how to put matches together and don't put any psychology into their. He says
that the ones that have made it internationally are talented and have long
term futures because they are able to adapt their styles.
- Sean Waltman is the newest addition to Wrestlebookings.com and he talks
about how he hasn't really been on the US Indy scene since being out of the
mainstream and looks forward to it. He then talks about possibly working
with Jerry Lynn again as they have always brought out the best in each other.
He talks about their work in Minnesota, Global, & TNA. He also mentions
having a classic match with Sabu in Minnesota that he puts over.
- During our interview with Bret Hart, he put over his match with Sean from
Raw in 1994 as one of his personal favorites, and Sean feels the same way.
He says that Bret is his pick as the best wrestler and loved working with
him. He says both of them worked very hard in that match and he says that
Bret made him with that match. He says that his association with Shawn Michaels
never effected his relationship with Bret, and he felt he could be friends
with anybody.
- Talking about his run in WCW, he says that the name "Syxx" was something
that Bischoff came up with, but thought that maybe it had something to do
with Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue. And hanging out with Nash & Hall eventually
led to him renaming himself as Syxx-Pac.
- Him being added to the nWo was because Hall & Nash wanted him in there.
He also puts over his work with Hall & Nash in Six Man Tag Matches as
being some of his best, which he compares to The Freebirds. He also talks
about how they were The Wolfpac before there was officially an nWo:
Wolfpac.
- He is then asked about his feud with Dean Malenko. He was very close to
Dean's dad and he brought up that history without anybody's knowledge, and
he felt that doing so added extra emotion to the feud.
- The conversation then shifts to Waltman's involvement in both The Four
Horsemen parody by the nWo & the Nation of Domination parody by DX. When
doing the Four Horsement skit, he said that he felt uncomfortable about doing
it at first, but decided to go all out with it in his portrayal of Ric Flair.
He feels that the Horsemen one was better than the Nation because they were
making fun of an actual speech from Flair. He says both were really funny,
but they got major heat for it.
- He says that the Turning Point of the Monday Night Wars were when DX raided
Monday Nitro, and he says it will never be topped.
VKM tried to do something similar for TNA with little success, but he felt
that wrestling companies need to start coming up with new stuff.
- There were rumors of heat between Jericho & Nash, and again between
Jericho & HHH, but he didn't see any of that himself. He puts over Chris
Jericho as "The Pete Rose of Wrestling" meant in a positive way.
- James references a match that Waltman had with Benoit where he defeated
him on WCW Worldwide and puts it over heavily. Waltman says that he doesn't
remember that specific match, but loved working with Benoit. When talking
about Benoit being erased from history, he says he understands why, and even
says that he's been erased from alot of things too, and even references being
left off the Rise & Fall of WCW DVD.
- When he jumped ship to WWF, he knew it was the right move because when
he was recovering from his neck surgery, he watched WWF and felt that the
product was getting very hot and it was the right move. He also finds it
interesting that all the stuff they did in the Attitude Era that was deemed
cool back then probably wouldn't work now.
- He puts over both the nWo & DX as two of the most creative ideas he
was ever a part of.
- When talking about the Death of WCW, he says that the problem with the
WWE's DVD releases is that they realise their own version of the story rather
than telling a perfectly accurate story.
- He then talks about his involvement with XPW, he says that it was disappointing
that it shut down before it could really get off the ground, but the possibility
was something he was aware of. He says it was the same thing with Wrestling
Socity X. He saw potential in the company & some of the talents they
got.
- The conversation then shifts to his friendship with Triple H and says that
he got along very well with him when compared to the Kliq which was probably
due to them being closer in age & the fact that HHH wasn't into pills
& drugs and was a good guy.
- When talking about drug use in wrestling, he says that it is definitely
a huge problem with wrestling. He feels that there is a certain type of
personality that is attracted to wrestling. He personally feels that the
WWE is doing a good job on their drug testing. This then leads into a small
discussion about the Jeff Hardy situation.
- He then talks about Signamania where Men on a Mission will also be reuniting,
and Sean puts over Mabel as a good person to work with.
- When asked about his future, Sean says that he doesn't have a definite
answer, but he would love to still work, and if he couldn't wrestle any more,
he'd still be doing something involved in wrestling.
