Recap of 10/14th ECW

Credit 411 Mania Welcome to the ECW on Sci-Fi! As always, I am Michael Bauer, your 411 ECW Re-capper. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are at ringside as always and tonight we are in Sin City, Las Vegas. And we start with Mark Henry and Tony Atlas coming down to the ring. Henry looks pissed, as always. We get highlights from last week on Mark Henry destroying both Jaime Noble and Matt Hardy. Tony has the microphone and states again that Mark Henry gave Matt Hardy a message last week and he has one again this week. Mark Henry wants the ECW Title and this quickly brings out Teddy Long. Teddy states that just because he jumped Matt Hardy, he doesn't deserve the title. And since he didn't get the job done before, he can get another shot, but it will be up the fans to decide who gets a Matt Hardy. Mark Henry is one of the three people who gets a chance. The two people will be determined in a set of qualifying matches tonight. Teddy tells Mark that if he loses the vote, he is out of luck. The qualifying matches start right now… Cyber Sunday Qualifying Match - Evan Bourne vs. Chavo Guerrero If Bourne wins this match, you know he wins the fan vote. I'm calling it right now. Bourne offers Mark Henry a handshake and fakes him out. Mark Henry takes his leave and we go to a commercial. Now I'm scared to see if he can beat Chavo again. Matt Striker defines DNA as the bell rings. The lockup sends Bourne into the corner and Chavo gets a headlock and grounds Bourne. Bourne is up and whips Chavo off the ropes. Chavo hits a shoulder block, but Bourne downs him with an arm drag. Chavo ducks to the outside and comes back in. Chavo with a leg trip takedown and goes back to a grounded headlock. Chavo with an arm wrench and down Bourne again. Bourne fights up and tries to arm drag out, but fails. Bourne gets out by bouncing off the top rope and flipping out. Bourne now goes to the arm wrench himself. Bourne into the corner and Chavo doesn't break clean. Bourne decked with an uppercut and Chavo stomps away. Chavo whips Bourne off the ropes, but Bourne pulls out the Lucha Libre to escape with an arm drag. Chavo to the outside and Bourne runs off the ropes… AIR BOURNE!!! Geez, did Bourne get some height and some spin on that corkscrew. I don't even think Las Vegas hotels are that tall. We head to a commercial at 3:56. We return at 6:56 and Bourne leaps into the knees of Chavo as he attempted the standing moonsault. Chavo locks in a submission hold, but Bourne fights out until he gets booted. Chavo misses a charge in the corner. Bourne flips over Chavo and goes off the ropes, but runs into a running Liger kick for two. Chavo stomps away as he is getting pissed. Chavo kicks the leg of Bourne, but Bourne fights out with stiff kicks of his own. Chavo misses a clothesline and Bourne rolls up Chavo for two and nine tenths. Chavo gets decked with a knee to the face, backing him into the corner. Chavo put on the top turnbuckle. Bourne tries the top rope hurricarana, but Chavo moves and Bourne lands on the crown jewels. Chavo covers, but only gets two. Bourne gets locked in a single leg crab and fights towards the ropes. Chavo pulls back, but Bourne rolls through and kicks Chavo in the head twice. Chavo kicks Bourne in the gut and hits one suplex… two suplexes… Bourne counters the third with a kick to the head. Chavo waffles Bourne and heads up top, but Bourne quickly gets up and leaps all the way up to hit a top rope hurricarana. Bourne heads up top… SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!! Bourne gets the cover and the three count at 12:30. Winner: Evan Bourne After the bell, Henry runs back out and drills Evan Bourne with the World's Strongest Slam. He then mockingly gives Bourne his handshake. After going over the choices for Triple H's opponent(s) for Cyber Sunday, the second qualifying match is announced: Finlay vs. John Morrison. Oh that's right, the Boogeyman is coming to get you. Back from the break, we get highlights of Hardy and Kozlov from last week and find out they have a match on Smackdown this week. Backstage, Tiffany is dressed up as a Las Vegas Showgirl and has a great costume for Teddy Long. She brings out an Elvis costume and Jack Swagger wonders why he is not in the running to face Matt Hardy. Teddy Long says that he has not been around long enough. Dreamer enters and also wants a shot after Cyber Sunday. Jack says this is not 1996 and that he is here to create a legacy, not bastardize it. Backstage, John Morrison and The Miz walk towards the ring. Cyber Sunday Qualifying Match - John Morrison (with The Miz) vs. Finlay (with Hornswoggle) Striker asks what Grisham is going to be for Halloween. After not getting an answer, he sais he would either be The Repo Man or Bastian Booger. Wow, just wow. The bell rings and after a stare down, they lock up. Finlay backs up Morrison and then gets backed up. Finlay with a headlock, whipped off the ropes, and hits a air if shoulder blocks. Morrison gets a go behind and a quick rollup. Finlay brings down the Shaman of Sexy by the leg and locks in a leg lock, but Morrison reverses into an arm bar. Finlay then reverses into another leg lock. Morrison gets to his feet, but Finlay shoves him down and drops an elbow on the knee. Finlay with a knee drop to the leg and wrenches back on the ankle. Finlay kicks away at the leg and locks in a single leg crab. Morrison crawls to the ropes, but Finlay pulls him back in. Finlay lets go and let's Morrison on into the corner. Morrison backed into the corner, but he kicks out. Morrison kicks Finlay in the gut again, no selling the leg, and gets a two count. Morrison with a grounded armbar, but Finlay gets to his feet as Miz screams from the floor. Finlay nearly decks Miz, but Morrison keeps his hold on Finlay. Finlay whipped off the ropes, but Morrison ducks and gets booted. Finlay gets tripped up by The Miz, but he catches Morrison charging and dumps him over the top onto The Miz. Finlay has the ref distracted and Hornswoggle is in the ring. Hornswoggle does what Striker calls a "Low-Pe" onto the Miz and runs under the ring. The Miz follows as Finlay throws Morrison back into the ring as we go to commercial at 6:05. We are back at 9:17 and Morrison is working on the arm again. Morrison grounds Finlay and drives the knee into the shoulder. Finlay gets to his feet, but Morrison stops the momentum. Irish whip reverses, but Finlay shoulder tackles the ring post. Morrison stomps the arm and Finlay backs into a corner. Morrison grounds Finlay out of the corner and again goes to the arm. Finlay is able to break away from Morrison and walks right into a clothesline. Morrison mounts and hits hard elbows. Morrison going for a modified key lock, but Finlay is up fast. Morrison throws Finlay into the turnbuckle, but Finlay bounces out and they knock heads. Finlay with a backslide for a two count. Finlay hitting a series of clotheslines. Irish whip by Finlay and he hits a shoulder block in the corner. Finlay gets a two count and whips him again. Finlay walks into a boot. Morrison walks into Finlay's fireman's carry. Morrison slips out and Hornswoggle comes out and plays dead. The ref comes over and Finlay grabs the shillelagh. Mike Knox grabs it from Finlay and Morrison hits the springboard enziguri. Mike Knox gets pulled under the ring by Cryme Time! Finlay has the shillelagh again and decks Morrison. The ref comes over and counts the three at 15:53. Winner: Finlay Finlay celebrates with Cryme Time and whacks them both for whatever reason.
