Preshow Notes: Looks to be a pretty packed house tonight with a good number of folks showing up in the nick of time. Estimated attendance of around 160. A little different setup from last time, things look a lot more professional. Site friend Lyle C. Williams is in the house for photography, decked out in a 2008 Phillies World Series hat (”nice to have a little hope for once”). The BJW gimmick table is stacked with key fobs, DVD’s, posters and more. Reasonably priced, too!

Louden Noxious Live Performance: Tonight, we are graced with “Big in Easton, Big in Japan”, a fantastic tune that is legit THE BEST SONG EVER. This, legit, worth the price of the DVD.

The Osirian Portal vs Atsushi Ohashi and Shinya Ishikawa: No more knee brace for Amasis! The match is officiated by BJW official Morishima. Amasis starts off with Ohashi, teasing the Big Japan young lion with some dancing early on. Some good back and forth between Ishikawa and Ophidian, Ishikawa displaying great power for a man his size. The Portal get the upper hand on him though thanks to the power of hypnosis. After managing to get the advantage back, the BJW crew really lay it in with their strikes. The Portal get the win and their third point in 9:27 when Ophidian gets the Death Grip in on Ohashi for the win. After the match, Ophidian takes the mic and demands Chikarason enter the ring to demand tomorrow’s match be an official Campeonatos de Parejas defense - and as long as SSB agree, a title match it is!

Global Gauntlet Showdown: Yuji Okabayashi vs Ultimo Breakfast: Okabayashi, also a very strong man with treetrunk thighs, accidentally “scrambled the eggs downstairs” on Breakfast early on with a misplaced kick. Quick match, Okabayashi wins in 3:47 via torture rack after some strong, heavy offense.

Global Gauntlet Showdown: Jaki Numazawa vs Ultramantis Black: Mantis starts off the match talking smack in Japanese. We get a full foreign language review, with Mantis making sure Bryce knows Spanish, Japanese and English. The two start off simple; Jaki claims a hairpull early, then they trade holds before Jaki gets frustrated and starts to throw elbows. The action calms down and the two trade rolls on the mat, a true test of one another’s skills. Mantis teases Jaki after getting an upper hand by pulling on his hair with his mouth. Action spills to the outside where Jaki threatens to throw Mantis into all four sections of the crowd before suplexing him on the hardwood. Numazawa attempts to use a chair before Bryce stops him at last second. Mantis accidentally knocks Bryce out, allowing Jaki to foul Mantis and get the win in a little over 9:00.

Global Gauntlet Showdown: Katsumasa Inoue vs Hallowicked: Inoue is killing Wicked here, a huge handprint on Wicked’s chest. Inoue gets the clear advantage until Wicked nails a SICK G2SH to stay alive. Inoue got back on top with a Fisherman Suppex for a two, and a RIDICULOUS diving headbutt for two. Wicked gets the win to avoid the BJW sweep with a Yakuza Kick in 8:02. Pretty good match.

Intermission.

The Colony and Jessie McKay vs Crossbones, Ryan Eagles and Madison Eagles: BJW referee Nikkan Lee is refereeing this match. Crossbones teases starting off with Jessie McKay, but Madison comes in to keep things fair. The two trade some slick wristlocks before going to the outside to allow Fire Ant and Crossbones to go at it. Crossbones overpowers until he’s dropkicked to the outside for Soldier Ant and Ryan Eagles. Eagles has some amazingly green shoes and is quite the showboat, using every chance he can to show off to the crowd before Soldier takes over with some Salute offense. After things get hectic due to rudo interference, Crossbones gets McKay with the MOST DISGUSTING KICK EVER. This poor lass…continues to get killed by the rudo squad, just some insane kicks, chops and knees. She shows a slight hint of hope lariating Ryan before Madison just kicks her square in the mush to keep things on their side. They continue the beatdown until the Colony gets in, Fire playing Chicken on Soldier’s shoulders. Crossbones tries to get on Madison’s shoulders…no go. Trio of dives by the tecnicos and things just go insane until McKay finally gets her payback on Crossbones. Soldier Ant gets the pin on Ryan Eagles via saluting headbutt in a fun 13:45.

Global Gauntlet Showdown: Daisuke Sekimoto vs Brodie Lee: Daisuke, built like a brickhouse. Dear god. So…Daisuke just toped right into this section, incredibly scary. Knocked all the chairs three rows back. Incredibly heated, two went back and forth with insane strikes and suplexes. Brodie hits big boot/superkick/Black Hole Slam for two, but Daisuke lands an INSANE, INSANE deadlift German suplex for the win, to clinch a first night victory for Big Japan.

Global Gauntlet Showdown: Ryuji Ito vs Mike Quackenbush: Ultimate styles clash, eh? Quack works over Ito early on the ground, clearly taking the upper hand but Ito surprisingly holding his own before targeting Quack’s bad knee. Quack eventually manages to mount a bit of a comeback, even hitting the Black Tornado Slam before his knee gets the best of him. Ito comes back with a Northern Lights Suplex and a moonsault for two. Quack comes with a reverse brainbuster from nowhere for two. Signals for QD2…two count. Palm strike…reversed, BIG GERMAN and shining yakuza kick for two. HUUUUGE frog splash by Ito for three in 10:32, and BJW blows out CHIKARA 4-1! Big Japan runs in the ring to celebrate, crowd shows great respect for an awesome performance.

La Lotería Letal Final: Vin Gerard and Colin Delaney vs Jimmy Olsen and Lince Dorado: Lince no longer rocking his Tiger Mask 4 gear tonight. No boos tonight either, just complete silence and apathy, which is even worse. Vin starts off stalling big time before Jimmy just slaps, chops and punches the heck out of the dude. Pretty standard fare tag match with a fun finish thanks to Jimmy being THE babyface. Jimmy and Lince win in 16 after Lince hits an SSP on Colin. Lince and Jimmy get their third point! Good stuff, good show!
