- From the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
- Raw begins with a video package highlighting the Ric Flair vs. Triple H, Career vs. Rumble Opportunity match from last week, including the interference from William Regal which cost Triple H his spot in the Rumble match.
- Backstage Regal is being cautious around Mr. McMahon because Regal refused to strike Hornswoggle last week, Regal says he thought he redeemed himself by taking Triple H out of the Rumble last week. McMahon agrees. McMahon notes that tonight is the 1st Raw of 2008 and it marks the return of Raw Roulette! McMahon says tonight he wants Triple H injured and so tonight HHH will face Regal, McMahon spins the roulette wheel to reveal it will be a First Blood Match! Regal leaves the office and gets attacked by Triple H, officials break it up.
- Raw opening video airs and J.R. welcomes us to the show.
On the tron, Vince spins the wheel to reveal Michaels and Kennedy’s match will be a Strange Bedfellows Match. This means Kennedy and Michaels will be forced to team up against an opposing team.
(1) Strange Bedfellows Match - Shawn Michaels & Mr. Kennedy vs. Charlie Haas & Trevor Murdoch
Michaels ejects his “partner” from the ring by kicking him and throwing him out! During the match Charlie Haas puts on a mask and starts portraying a super hero gimmick, Michaels pulls the mask off and Haas goes back to normal. HBK superkicks Haas, Kennedy tags himself in and hits his new finisher, The Mike Check on HBK, Kennedy then covers Haas to steal the win.
(2) Trading Places Match – Carlito w/ Santino Marella vs. Hardcore Holly w/ Cody Rhodes
in this match both competitors are dressed as each other and came to the ring to each others music. Holly spits apple in Carlito’s face and hits the Alabama Slam for the win.
- Backstage Maria gets to spin the wheel to determine what match all of the Raw Divas will compete in tonight, it lands on Submission Match, Vince tells Maria to close her eyes and he changes it to a Lingerie Pillow Fight, Maria mentions her pillows are all natural.
- A video package airs highlighting the Randy Orton-Jeff Hardy rivalry, including Hardy’s momentum and Orton’s attack on Matt last week.
- Backstage Todd Grisham interviews Jeff Hardy, Hardy vows he will not only take Orton’s title, he will also take Orton out.
- Vince is talking with Hornswoggle, they had technical problems and so they cut it short and J.R. apologized. It was something to do with the Rumble, maybe Hornswoggle is in it?
- Graphic shows for the pillow fight, it shows Mickie, Maria, Melina and Jillian…so much for it being all the divas.
- They re-show the conversation between Vince and Hornswoggle via tape delay, Vince tells Hornswoggle that he is in a tag match tonight with a partner of his choice, it’s a Royal Rumble qualifying match so either Hornswoggle and his partner will be in the Rumble or their opponents will be in.
(3) Lingerie Pillow Fight – Melina vs. Jillian vs. Maria vs. Mickie vs. Ashley
Nice to see Ashley back. Match was pointless and ran too long, Ashley pinned Jillian for the win.

(4) First Blood Match – Raw GM William Regal vs. Triple H
Nice physical match up. Triple H busts Regal open using his bare hands, Regal has a fair bit of blood. After the match HHH gives Regal the Pedigree.
- Later tonight; Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga in a Steel Cage Match
- Backstage Hornswoggle is seen trying to find a partner but everyone keeps turning him down.
- Video package is shown highlighting the Chris Jericho-JBL rivalry, they will face off at the Royal Rumble.
(5) Handicap Match – Chris Jericho vs. Snitsky & JBL
JBL hit Jericho with the ring bell to end the match in a DQ. After the match JBL assaults Jericho, JBL is working stiff on Jericho, putting a thick cable around Jericho’s neck and dragging him around the arena, a lot of the time Jericho didn’t have his fingers between his neck and the cable so he was actually being choked out. J.R. said these actions are reprehensible. JBL goes to feed the cable through one of the steel structures at the entrance way so that he could pull Jericho off of his feet but the officials FINALLY come and break it up.
(6) Tag Team Royal Rumble Qualifying Match – Hornswoggle & Mick Foley vs. The Highlanders
Great to see Foley back! He hits the Double Arm DDT on Robbie and Horny hits the Tadpole Splash for the victory. Hornswoggle and Mick Foley are in the Rumble!

(7) Steel Cage Match – Intercontinental Champion and #1 Contender to the WWE Championship Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga
WWE Champion Randy Orton comes to ringside. Great cage match, Umaga is dominating Hardy and Orton is taunting him from the outside. Orton throws 3 chairs over the cage and into the ring. Hardy tries to escape the cage but Orton slams the door in Hardy’s head, Umaga goes for the Samoan Spike but Hardy reverses into the Twist of Fate. Hardy climbs the cage to escape but realizes Orton is waiting for him on the outside, Hardy then hits a Whisper in the Wind from the top of the cage onto Umaga! Hardy gets the pin and Orton goes nuts, Hardy climbs back on top of the cage and stands looking down at Orton below. Awesome match, worth seeing!
