Great Championship Wrestling results from Phenix City, AL, on April 17: Attendance was somewhere between 275 and 300. The referees were Randy Ray, and Jeff and Scrappy McGowan. John Bogie and Scotty Beach defeated Orion Bishop and the Bruiser w/Wicked Nemesis, Princeton Gainey III, and Mr. Crowfish. Damien Steele defeated Randall Johnson. Jonathan Davis defeated Michael Cook. Sonny Siaki defeated Zero Tolerance w/Quentin Michaels. The Southside Trash defeated Buff Bagwell, Frankie Valentine, and Adrian Hawkins. Mr. Hughes defeated Mr. Columbus to retain the IWN Heavyweight championship. Chris Stevens defeated A.J. Steele. United States Wrestling Organization results from April 18 in Nashville, TN, at the Stadium Inn: Attendance was 86.Justin Spade b Juicy JC Crowe; Steve O b Lee Cross; LT Falk NC Steven Green when Tim Renesto and Charming Charles ran out and attacked both; USWO Jr. Champion Damien Payne b Petey Wright; LT Falk b Tim Renesto by DQ when Charming Charles interfered; Michael Jablonski & New York Gangster b Quinton Quarisma & Jay Phoenix to win the USWO Tag Team Championship when Jablonski pinned Phoenix; and Chris Michaels b Mitch Ryder 2-1 in a 30:00+ Iron Man Match to win the held-up USWO Championship. Deciding fall came in a sudden death period when Michaels launched himself over the top onto Ryder. Both were down on the floor, but Michaels made it back in to beat the count and win the match. It is unclear as to whether McIntyre’s reign as Southern Heavyweight Champion ended since the last reference we show having him defending the title against Mark Lewin on February 22, 1957, in Marietta, and Kurt Von Brawner was billed as champion against McIntyre on April 10, 1957, in Augusta. The Marietta office may simply have been recognizing Von Brawner as its champion.

However, she was not considered the undisputed champion until June Byers retired with her title, won in Atlanta on August 20, 1954, in a win over Mildred Burke, until Byers retired in 1964. Eddie Graham had been the reigning World Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Freddie Blassie on February 1, 1963, in Atlanta. It was announced that Bill Dromo and Chris Averoff would be wrestling in Atlanta soon.
