Atlantis will have a 25th Anniversary show at Arena Mexico on 7/11 where Arena Mexico will showcase many photos of his career along with the masks he has taken at Arena Mexico over the years (Talisman, Hombre Bala, Tierra Viento y Fuego, Kung Fu, The Animals, Mano Negra, and of course Villano III.) There will also be a special mass in his honor en la Villa de Guadalupe after the show. El Dandy told Luchas 2000 in their latest issue that he thinks that the popularity of the wrestling message board in Mexico has changed the dynamic of the fan in a very negative way. Dandy said that there are still a lot of great fans who love lucha for what it is but there is a new breed of fan that is coming around the corner who is too negative and doesn’t want to find the positives of any show they attend. Dandy also said that this new breed of fan isn’t afraid to spew their hatred very loudly at shows and at couple of week’s worth of shows at Arena Naucalpan he personally noticed this couple in the crowd that was getting into it with these fans and that after those shows, they haven’t been back since. Dandy thinks there is also a bias against the older luchadores and that the new fans want a more hardcore-based style with more high flying, which is fine and all but not everyone wants that. Javier Gonzalez of Lucha Libre VIP based out of Monterrey said that with AAA going back to Arena Solidaridad they will switch over to Arena Coliseo de Monterrey. I think this is a better move for VIP because it will mean more TV time for their promotion. Oriental stated today that he is so glad to have his sister Cinthia Moreno back in action and they will begin their path to regain the AAA Mixed Tag Titles starting on 5/19 at Domo de la Feria de Leon. Oriental said sure they will be in separate matches but the fact that they are together scouting Mari Apache will start their preparation of regaining said titles. Cinthia has been out of action for 5 months and he said that she is ready to get back in action and as he told AAA President Joaquin Roldan they are the natural #1 contenders for those titles after defending them over 150 times. Oriental went on to say that he has some issues with Los Vipers Revolucion especially Histeria & Psicosis and he will show them like he has shown Canek, Head Hunter I, & Leatherface in the past that he is a very hard man to keep down. Oriental said that he has been working on and off for AAA for the last 9 years and they always appreciate the 100% he gives in the ring when he gets booked on their shows making it a fun place to work for. Oriental did also say though that he is always open to going back to Japan working for NOAH and that Super Crazy has recommended him to the WWE the past few months about possibly getting a tryout so he welcomes that chance if it comes. Cinthia Moreno was then asked about her comeback and she said that she has been wearing an orthopedic corset to help her backbone heal over the last 5 months and that the whole time she has been away she has been thinking about getting revenge on Mari Apache. She admitted that she is only at 80% right now but she is ready to get back in action to regain her sharpness and to be by her brother’s side. Cinthia also said that she is ready to win the Reina de Reinas and she wants to finally conclude her rivalry with Martha Villalobos this year. EMLL 5/11 – Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara 1.
