That's right! Larry King, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, and the Wrestling Epicenter!
We are proud and honored to be one of the few wrestling oriented media outlets
to have former Minnesota Governor and WWE Hall of Famer Jesse "The Body"
Ventura on our radio program. His new book titled Don't Start the Revolution
Without Me is burning up the New York Times Best Seller list and frankly
it is making virtually every political figure hot under the collar. ANd,
we've got Jesse to tick them off just a little bit more!
We hope you enjoy this interview as much as we enjoyed being part of it.
We invite you to tune in regardless if you agree with Jesse's politics or
not and be part of The Interactive Interview!
Jesse Ventura
- Jesse opens up the interview talking about how he has taken up surfing
and says heýs new dream is to ýRide a Giant with Laird
Hamiltoný
- We then move into a discussion about Jesseýs new book ýDonýt
Start the Revolution without Meý He says the response to his book
has been phenomenal and was impressed with the way people have reacted as
well.
- He then states that he wishes the ballots had ýNone of the Aboveý
on ballots in order to send a message to the political parties. Jesse talks
about some of the problems with the parties including the massive debt the
country has gone into.
- As a former wrestler, he feels that it gave him name recognition in his
campaign for governor in Minnesota. He says that he only had to raise $300,000
in his campaign, which is far less than the Republican & Democratic
candidates did. The one disappointment is that he was listed as a former
wrestler while the other candidates were labeled for their previous political
titles. Jesseýs tenure as Mayor was overlooked.
- When comparing his run to Arnold Schwartzenegger, he says name recognition
definitely plays a big role, and that Arnold could have won that election
as an independent candidate because of his name recognition.
- He is then asked about the invitation that Bush and Gore received to have
a debate on WWE television. He says ýthe more debates the betterý
and he felt it would it have been a good way to reach out to another part
of the American public.
- That leads into some interesting information from Jesse regarding the 2000
election and the Terry Schiavo case, citing that both cases were examples
of the government violating the Constitution.
- When asked about his short lived show on MSNBC, he says that he was pulled
because he was the first one to openly oppose the War with Iraq. They honored
his contract and paid him, but it also meant that he could not work on any
news shows until the contract was up.
- He says that he would love to be a radio host and be the voice for the
Independent party, similar to how Rush Limbaugh is for the Republicans, but
says that things would have to be worked out first.
- He did not seek reelection because his wife was diagnosed with Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome and felt that caring for her was more important than holding
political office.
- If his book were referenced during any of the campaigns for any of the
candidates in the 2008 election, he would love it.
- When asked for advice for any voters who donýt like any of the
candidates, he brings up his idea about having ýNone of the Aboveý
on a ballot. He also recommends voting for a 3td party candidate, which he
says he always does.
- Jesse does say that if he had to pick from any of the candidates right
now, heýd go for Obama. However, he also feels that Obama would be
assassinated if he were elected.
- When asked about The Ultimate Warrior, who has gotten into political speaking,
Jesse says that he has never heard about him, but when James explains that
he had gone ýNeo-Coný, Jesse says that he probably wouldnýt
agree with him on very much.
- When asked about Hulk Hogan, Jesse says that he has no respect for Hogan
because it was Hogan who told Vince that Ventura had planned to unionize
wrestling.
- When asked what the future holds, he once again states that he would love
to surf with Laird Hamilton.
- Would Jesse run in 2012? He says its possible, but says it could have happened
this year, and felt that Vince McMahon could have helped him get on the ballot
and didnýt do it.
