Amy Dumas is best known to wrestling fans as Lita. Amy first burst on the big scene in wrestling with ECW as an interesting female performer who seemed to have a lot of mental issues. A video clip of Amy holding Tammy "Sunny" Sytch while Dawn Marie spanks her is probably the most well known clip of Amy's ECW career.

In 2000, Amy was brought to the WWE after Dory Funk Jr. sent over tape of her earlier work to the WWE. It was in the WWE that she was given the name of Lita. As Lita, Amy made an instant impact with her high flying abilities which have been copied time and time again by other female performers but never quite as well.

Amy captured her first WWE Womens Title defeating Stephanie McMahon in August of 2000. She would go on to hold the WWE Women's Championship 4 times in her career.

After working with Esse Rios, Amy found herself with the Hardy Boys. Amy had a sexual friendship with Matt years prior while trying to break in to the business and the fire was once again ignited with this feud. The couple would stay together until 2005.

In 2005, Matt Hardy was released after being very outspoken regarding Amy "Lita" Dumas' cheating on him with Adam Copeland (Edge). The backlash from the Internet caused the WWE to bring Hardy back and ultimately brought Amy's personal life to a national TV audience. This was the beginning of the end of her wrestling career.

In 2006, Amy stayed on with the WWE as the slutty girlfriend of WWE champion Adam Copeland (Edge) but rumors started floating around that she wanted away from him.

Amy returned to the ring and captured the Women's Title 2 more times in August and November of 2006.

When she left at the Survivor Series of 2006, she did not leave with a tearful goodbye as her counterpart Trish Stratus did. It wasn't a "fairy-tale ending". JBL started selling sexual products he claimed were used by Amy on the air.

Dumas formed the band The Luchagors in the summer of 2006, and they debuted in September 2006 at a rock n' wrestling event called Rock -N- Shock at The Masquerade in Atlanta.[59] Dumas wore a top emblazoned with the symbol of the band during her final match in WWE. The band released their self-titled debut CD, The Luchagors, on September 11, 2007.

Dumas contributed vocals to the song "From The Shadows" (appearing on the track alongside Dez Cadena of Black Flag/Misfits) from Recognise, the debut album from UK band JD & the FDCs, which was released in July 2012. A video for the song was released in March 2013.

Dumas made her debut for United Wrestling Federation (UWF) on April 21, 2007 where she served as a special guest referee for the match between Christy Hemme and April Hunter. The following day, Dumas made her in-ring debut teaming up with Jerry Lynn in a winning effort defeating Austin Starr and Christy Hemme. Dumas made her debut for Family Wrestling Entertainment on April 28 edition of FWE Televison, as a special guest referee for the match where Winter retained the FWE Women's Championship against Melina Perez.

She made a special appearance on December 10, 2007 on Raw's 15th Anniversary Special by teaming up with former long-time rival/real-life friend Trish Stratus to rid the ring of Jillian Hall, and afterwards celebrated in the ring with Stratus, turning face in the process, and later that night, she had a backstage reunion with Kane, her former on-screen husband. She also appeared on the November 1, 2010 episode of Raw in a backstage segment with Pee Wee Herman. On December 12, 2011, Lita appeared as the Slammy Award presenter for the "Divalicious Moment of 2011" on Raw, which was presented to Kelly Kelly.

Dumas also appeared at WWE Wrestlemania Axxess, and later was seen sitting front row with CM Punk at the WWE Hall of Fame 2012, leading to her attendance for Wrestlemania 28. Lita returned on the 1000th episode of Raw defeating Heath Slater in a no disqualification, no countout match with the help from the legends who had defeated Slater during the past weeks as well as the APA. She also made an appearance at the 2013 WWE Hall Of Fame with CM Punk.

On the February 10, 2014 edition of Raw, WWE announced that Lita will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania XXX.

Her Women’s Championship match against Trish Stratus on Unforgiven 2006 was ranked No. 3 by WWE in 2015 on the "10 greatest Divas Matches of all time" list. This match is also cited as one of the most unforgettable Divas matches along with her match against Mickie James at Survivor Series, and against Victoria in a cage match on Raw.

Dumas contributed vocals to the song "From The Shadows" (appearing on the track alongside Dez Cadena of Black Flag/Misfits) from Recognise, the debut album from UK band JD & the FDCs, which was released in July 2012. A video for the song was released in March 2013.

During the WrestleMania 32 pre-show on April 3, 2016, Lita unveiled the new WWE Women's Championship belt, in addition to announcing the retirement of the WWE Divas Championship. Charlotte defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match later that night to win the title, becoming the first Women's Champion of the modern era.[64][65] She was working as one of the pre-show hosts for Raw, SmackDown and pay-per-view events. By December, Lita was no longer with the company.

She is a playable character in WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth, WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain, WWE '13, WWE 2K14, WWE 2K16 (as downloadable content), WWE 2K17 and WWE 2K18.
