Join us as we welcome Feyette County District Attorney Scott Ballard to discuss the disturbing details of this case. Please, be warned. What is discussed is not for children's ears and might make some listeners queesy.
In addition, former WCW superstar "Maestro" the Stro joins us to share his feelings.
This isn't done for profit. This isn't done for personal gain. We just want to find answers. I think every wrestling fan sure has enough questions.
SCOTT BALLARD
Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard goes through the timeline of the events of the weekend of June 22, starting with the police involvement:
On Saturday, June 23, Benoit was supposed to attend a WWE event in Beaumont, TX. He told the WWE that he couldn't make it because his wife and child were ill. The next day, at around 2:30 pm, when Benoit failed to appear at the Vengeance PPV in Houston, WWE officials called the Fayetteville police. Police arrived and immediately smelled decaying bodies inside the residence.
"They found Mrs. Benoit in one room, they found the body of the son, who is 7 years old, in another bedroom on his bed and they found Chris down in the basement. The Medical Examiner sets the time of death for Mrs. Benoit at sometime on Friday, the son Saturday morning and, according to the medical examiner, sometime late Saturday would have been when Chris would have died. Based on text messaging that he sent, we assume he died sometime between 3 and 4 o'clock in the morning on Sunday morning."
Steroids were inside the house, but it's too soon to say that they were involved in the actual events of the weekend or if they were in the bodies of any of the decedents.
DA Ballard said that he wasn't aware of any painkillers that were allegedly found inside the house, only the steroids.
