Show: Interactive Wrestling Radio courtesy of http://www.WrestlingEpicenter.com
Guest: Tony Atlas
Date: 11/2/10
Your Hosts: Patrick Kelley, James Walsh, & Nick Noel

"Mr. USA" Tony Atlas is one of wrestling's first riches to rags and back to riches again stories. First talked about in a

much publicized MTV documentary many moons ago, Tony Atlas' new book "Too Much Too Soon" is the life story of

a wrestler that had a Hall of Fame worthy career that saw it all go up in smoke seemingly overnight. But, through grit

and the opportunities presented by the great country of the United States, once again ended up back on top.

This interview is over an hour long and covers Tony's views on the US as it stands, the changes in the wrestling

business over the past 35 years, the murder of Bruiser Brody, and so much more.

This is very in-depth, and very telling. A true treat to listen to for all fans of Tony Atlas and a must hear for those who

don't know his amazing story... Because, quite frankly, you should.

TONY ATLAS

On the book: The book was something that was introspective of him and had him look at his life in a way he never did before. He looked back and saw the highs and lows of it all and really learned something about himself in its creation.

On being down and out: Atlas says he was sleeping on a bench in a cold park during a snow storm in Maine. A lady saw him, took him home, had him clean up, took care of him. And, that lady is now his wife. Through that, he's landed back on his feet.

On his favorite memory from wrestling: Atlas says he remembers fondly a photo that circulates of him where he's pressing Hulk Hogan over his head. He says that moment is up there as one of his favorites.

On Mark Henry: Atlas says Henry was difficult but that is why they put them together. In the end, it was time for them to split. But, he was there to help keep him in line. He enjoyed it. But, admits it was sometimes tough.
