Coming off the
back of our huge "Macho Man" Randy Savage interview, we bring you the
most dynamic tag team in the industry today, AMW, America's Most Wanted -
Chris Harris & James Storm.
In this double header lasting a total of over 50 minutes, the two talk about
anything and everything from two very different viewpoints.
AMERICA'S MOST WANTED
"WILDCAT" CHRIS HARRIS
-- Growing up, Macho Man was his 'super hero'. As he
became a student of the business, he became a big fan of Bret Hart and his
work.
-- Chris then talks about Justice aka Abyss, who he started out with. He
says to keep that name in the back of your mind, as he will be big one day
- you heard it here first.
-- Harris originally wanted to just run as a singles guy, but TNA decided
to put him with Storm. The reaction when they put the idea to him and James
were "are you crazy?".
-- Chris didn't want to work together with him originally, and hoped that
the duo would be together for a relatively short time. However, now, they
wouldn't want to split.
-- When he signed with WCW he did a country music video in Nashville. It
was a wrestling video, got a lot of press and went to #1. WCW liked it and
they had a whole idea planned out with Jeff Jarrett. Some higher ups didn't
like the ideas though, and tossed the angle.
-- He was told after WCW's closure that he was being looked at, but Chris
described it as an "empty promise". Looking back, Chris is happy he didn't
get signed because of the state of TNA and WWE both now, and where he is
at.
-- Memories are then shared of Curt Hennig, during his time in MECW and TNA.
-- On the topic of MECW, Harris had some priceless quotes, including it being
"wrong from the start", "Hitler running it" and more.
-- TNA scouts were at the 'Legends Night' event that Harris & Storm performed
at. Chris faced James, and tore the roof off, and that night Bob Ryder and
Jeff Jarrett told them to expect phone calls and contracts very soon.
-- It was supremely surprising that to Chris that he (a city boy) and Storm
(a cowboy) gelled so well as a team. He said they have a few things in common,
such as fighting, women and beer, but half the time he can't even understand
Storm.
-- He couldn't quite believe he was the half of the NWA Tag Champs until
he had to carry the belt on the road.
-- When Russo came in, it killed him and Storm. Since Vince didn't know of
AMW, he took them off the show, something he hated Vince for. However, they've
developed some respect for him now, and they got their chance again after
working a dark match and tearing the house down during that.
-- He feels that back in the day, people were excited by Tag Matches, but
nowadays it's just people who are thrown together and waiting for their next
singles shot. He feels to make a good tag team, both members need to be 100%
into the team, such as the way the Dudleyz are.
-- Working with the Rock 'N' Roll express was an honour because they were
one of the tag teams he respected growing up.
-- In regards to the Lollipop incident, he feels people need to remember
that there are kids in the audience. Throwing in a catfight now and again
is cool, but it's a wrestling show in the long run.
-- If WWE knocked on his door now, he would look away. Never say never, but
he will deal with that when the time is right.
-- We then do some word associations with names such as James Storm, the
Jarrett's, Randy Savage, Vince McMahon and Curt Hennig.
-- Chris Harris then has some messages for the fans as we wrap up part of
the interview.

"TENNESSEE COWBOY" JAMES STORM
-- Big influences growing up, much like Harris, were
Bret Hart & Hulk Hogan. Storm also appreciated Bret's work much more
when he became involved in the business, and feels his ability to tell a
story in the ring, something that has been lacking in the current product.
-- He was out with a shoulder injury caused by a clothesline bump gone wrong.
It was a compound fracture, and he was out for an entire year because of
it.
-- The nickname 'Tennessee Cowboy' came just because of where he was from,
and what he is.
-- He was trained by Slash from the New Church.
-- Becoming a tag legend is on the forefront of his mind, and he wouldn't
change that right now.
-- When he was R&B security for Russo and Bischoff in WCW, Russo didn't
pay much attention to them. He doesn't agree with Russo's wacky ideas because
James is a more traditional type of guy, but "whatever works".
-- Winning the Tag Titles from the New Church is Storm's favourite match
in TNA thus far, understandably.
-- Much like Harris, if WWE came to him, he'd tell them "thanks but no thanks".
He says that's basically how everybody in TNA feels currently, because it's
one big team effort.
-- No thoughts on going into MMA because he's "not that flexible".
-- The sale of WCW to him meant that his 'best opportunity' was gone. When
TNA came around he felt it was a great honour to get a spot with them.
-- Final word associations are along the lines of Chris Harris, TNA, Slash,
Bret Hart, Hennig and Savage. We then go into our wrap up
-- To get the latest about James Storm, you can go to www.cowboyjamesstorm.com
