"THE ORIGINAL GANGSTA" NEW JACK
-- New Jack was not a wrestling fan growing up. Occasionally he'd turn it
on but he never loved it as a kid.
-- He jokes, I think, about TV being what got him interested in it.
-- He was never trained to wrestle. It just kind of happened.
-- The Gangstas formed because Jim Cornette needed a black tag team.
-- He said he didn't "like" working for Smoky Mountain Wrestling because
he didn't care for being called a "nigger" every time he went to wrestle.
-- He had never seen ECW but was told it was right up his alley. The Gangstas
went and it became his home for a long time.
-- He has no "favorite opponents." He just feels you get in there and do
your job. He also says he doesn't have a "favorite match" like people talk
about.
-- The Ganstas splitting was just because it was time.
-- He FLIPS OUT at host James Walsh when he asks what it was like "switching
gears and working with John Kronus." The question was asked because he teamed
with the guy he feuded with and won the tag titles. James shows his professional
side and gets the interview on track.
-- He left ECW because he could see it was dying. He said he could just see
it.
-- XPW was and is a cheap rip off of ECW. He left them because he could see
it was going down and he said look at where it is now. He says it was on
some TV and now it isn't on anything.
-- He called TNA looking for a job.
-- He doesn't "enjoy" the Shark Boy gimmick but he thinks it is "different"
in a funny way.
-- He takes back what he said about not having a favorite match. He said
the Mass Transit incident was his favorite because he got to beat the hell
out of someone. He says he has no regrets about it and laughs quite a bit.
-- His most painful injury in wrestling was losing some of his sight when
he and Vick Grimes fell off the balcony and Grimes crushed New Jack's head.
-- His feelings on Paul Heyman are simple. "I want to murder him, bring him
back to life, and murder him again." I think that's about what he said but
he was laughing so much that he was hard to hear.
-- Plus his thoughts on Shane Douglas, Jerry Lynn, Sandman, Shark Boy, and
others!
AND on top of all this... get thoughts from the first year of TNA from Bob
Ryder, Jeremy Borash, Trinity, Jerry Lynn & the New NWA Champ, AJ Styles!
