Date: 6/03
Your Hosts: Daniel Edler & James Walsh
Transcript By: James Walsh
Two of the unsung heroes of wrestling, not just in NWA-TNA
where both men made huge names for themselves with the fans, but across the
indy scene (America and England), Jonny Storm & Shark Boy.
The finned wonder is one of the most 'interesting' talents to grace the current
indy scene, and just when this interview was recorded, he had been offered
to come and view certain WWE dates.
Our interview with Jonny Storm was completely by luck, as we got the interview
very much on the off chance. For information on how to book Jonny and many
other FWA and Indy/XPW talents, check out www.extremebookings.com, your best
source for indy talent.
"THE WONDER KID" JOHNNY STORM
-- Being British, Jonny never thought he'd get the chance to become a wrestler.
His favourites were HBK/Scott Hall.
-- He enjoys being a high-flyer and isn't pressured by the tag.
-- His nickname, "The Wonderkid" was something he'd always wanted to be called.
He knew Alex Wright was also called that, so if he ever got over he thought
he could use the name too in its British form.
-- Jonny speaks about FWA being aired in the US in the future and how likely
that could be. He also speaks on how hard it is to get a television deal.
-- The future aim in England is the FWA world title.
-- Storm then talks about a tour which was upcoming at the time of the interview,
which has since passed.
-- On the topic of XPW, he says that personally they always squash rumors
about it ceasing to exist to him, and they've let him know of all of the
future plans.
-- He talks about his first ever match in the USA, and how it was in a tournament
for CZW.
-- Jonny wrestled Juvi Guerrera in the FWA's April tour, and he feels that
the reason Juvi isn't in the WWE is because the roster is so package and
there's a "million people in front of him".
-- The X Division was something he'd heard about before he became a part
of it, but not to a huge extent. He knew Jerry Lynn and AJ Styles from their
time wrestling in England.
-- Finally Jonny says that he's looking to conquer America now and that because
there's no "WWE sort" in England. Due to that he feels that he's
-- We then play word associations and wrap up this segment of the interview.
He also speaks out against people who say he's in Jody Fleish's shadow.
