Pretty Boy Floyd is an American Glam metal band. They formed in 1988 in Hollywood, CA. After 8 shows they were snapped up by MCA Records and had two of their promotional videos feature on MTV.
Their debut album, Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz, was released in 1989. It did not manage to crack Billboard's Top 100 albums chart, and Pretty Boy Floyd soon found themselves without a label, disbanding shortly thereafter.
The Pretty Boy Floyd line-up is constantly a revolving door scenario, with many Glam metal musicians passing through the ranks, with vocalist Steve Summers, remaining the sole original member.
The group reunited in the late '90s, issuing an EP titled A Tale of Sex, Designer Drugs, and the Death of Rock n' Roll in 1999; later in the year, their second full-length album, Porn Stars, was released by Cleopatra. After a lengthy hiatus, the group re-emerged yet again in 2004 with Size Really Does Matter on the Deadline imprint.
Rumours often circulate of the original line-up reforming. In early 2006 it was announced that Kristy Majors and Kari Kane would be returning to record an album of brand new songs and tour Japan, although it is not clear whether they are permanently returning.
