HALFORD Submitted By Cassie on 06/13/06 Link to Halford Discography Halford was formed in 1999 by then ex-lead Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford and is an attempt to return back to his old heavy metal roots after ending two previous projects: the street metal experience known as Fight, and the Industrial Metal experiment known as 2wo. Halford came back screaming with a vengeance; his first album Resurrection managed to make the cut into Martin Popoff's The Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time as well as the songs "Silent Screams" & the title-track itself "Resurrection" ranking in the book The Top 500 Heavy Metal Songs of All Time. As an extra surprise for newly-found Halford fans, the track "The One You Love To Hate" guest features Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson which can be heard on the studio album Resurrection as well as his live offering Live Insurrection, which is considered one of modern metal's best live albums. "The One You Love To Hate" has also been performed live with Queensr˙che's Geoff Tate. In 2002 Halford released his second studio album Crucible, although no live recordings have been officially released to promote this album. However, a high-quality soundboard bootleg titled "Live - From The Disney House Of Blues" was made available for download along with a special DEP at Robhalford.com in 2004. And this far is the only representation of live Crucible tracks. Although there are no live tracks, Halford did flurrish some countries (namely Japan) with bonus tracks; "She", "Fugitive", "Rock The World Forever" and "In The Morning". On November 20th, 2006, Halford celebrated with the debut of the single set to be on the upcoming Halford IV album, titled "Forgotten Generation." This was well received by fans, and is the first Halford track to be released in four years since the reunion of Judas Priest. The first wave of Halford releases came out on November 28th, 2006, which included remastered editions of his solo band's back catalogue and initially releasing them through Apple's online iTunes Store. Fight also celebrated a release, an early recording entitled "K5- War of Words Demos," which were the demos that Rob Halford had recorded back when Fight had first formed.
