Sherri Martel's Death Caused by Cocaine Overdose?

Submitted By James Walsh on 06/18/07
Sources close to Sherri Martel have stated off the record that they believe the WWE Hall of Famer may hav edied of a cocaine overdose. These sources declined being named but believe this to be the case citing her behavior in recent months and high energy levels at all times. Cocaine was the drug of choice for Curt Hennig and Bam Bam Bigelow who both have passed away, Hennig in 2003 and Bigelow earlier in 2007. Both men, like Sherri, were in their 40's.

In addition, Dave Meltzer stated on his Wrestling Observer Live radio show Sunday night that Sherri Martel did not die of natural causes, and the case is still under investigation by law enforcement. Meltzer said the police were in abundance at Martel’s mother’s residence in Alabama where the WWE hall of famer was found dead Friday morning. As a result of Martel’s death, WWE did discuss, in meetings, the possibility of dropping the Mr. McMahon “death” story line.
