 Erick Stevens is your new FIP World Heavyweight Champion. Stevens ended Roderick Strong's 13 month reign on 12/30 at ROH's "Final Battle 2007" event in Manhattan, NY. The hard-to-please Manhattan fans exploded when Stevens won the title. Many said it was the night that Stevens became a star in ROH.
Stevens hopes to bring the belt back to his home state of Florida on February 16th when FIP returns to action with "Redefined" in Crystal River. However, Stevens first must defend the strap against Austin Aries on 1/11 in Boston and if successful then Bryan Danielson on 1/12 in Edison at ROH events.
"I promise you right now that I will be FIP World Heavyweight Champion when I return to FIP and Florida on February 16th," Stevens said. "I know you are talking about two of the best that the entire world of wrestling has to offer with Aries and Danielson, but this belt has given me confidence, this is a turning point for me, I'm ready for any challenge. Most importantly, I need to defend this belt in front of all the Florida fans that have supported me since day one. That is going to be really special."
Roderick Strong To Get Rematch On February 16th
Roderick Strong set records as FIP World Heavyweight Champion having held the belt for 13 months while defending it against a wide range of challengers. Now Strong will get his rematch for the FIP World Heavyweight against whoever the champion is on February 16th in Crystal River, FL. Stevens and Austin Aries are already booked for Feb. 16th. Bryan Danielson will be booked if he wins the title on Jan. 12th at ROH.
Strong was a great FIP World Heavyweight Champion. He never backed down from any challengers. His resume includes victories over The Necro Butcher in a No DQ Match, Davey Richards in a series of matches that also saw the two grow a respect for each other that led to the formation of the No Remorse Corps, Dragon Gate's Yamato and an all star assortment of talent including Shingo, Christopher Daniels, Eddie Kingston, Tyler Black, Delirious, Austin Aries, Claudio Castagnoli and others. Strong also made the belt into a World Title by defending it in England against PAC on ROH shows.
"This is far from over," Strong said. "That is my belt. I made it. I am the best champion in wrestling. No one can dispute what I did with that title. I won't rest until I get it back. Crystal River has always been my town and I'll win it back on February 16th."
Black Market vs. Heartbreak Express Set For Final Time & Stakes Are Raised
The epic feud between Black Market and The Heartbreak Express has seen gallons of blood spilled, vicious weapons used with malicious intent and flesh torn. Now these two teams will battle for what will definitely be the final time on February 16th. You will see FIP's most intense feud come to an end as FIP become "Redefined" in Crystal River.
The stipulation has been decided and it insures that this will be the final match. There will be no rules. The losing duo can never wrestle in FIP again. This isn't just for 90 days. This is forever. Anyone who has followed FIP knows that the stipulations are always honored.
"February 16th is what it all comes down to," Shawn Murphy of Black Market said. "All the sweat, all the pain, all the violence. Now we dance one last time. This is it. We will banish The Heartbreak Express so the fans will never have to see them again."

FIP will be back in action on February 16th. It has been a very difficult time for the FIP family.
