According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NJPW’s Lance Archer was diagnosed with a herniated disc in the lower back, which required surgery. He’ll be out of action for several months after undergoing successful surgery. Archer had been hurting for some time; he had stopped sitting down on the killer bomb back in the NOAH days. His pain got worse, and he was examined after the February 7th show. The timing comes at the worst time as he and Davey Boy Smith Jr. were in line for an IWGP tag title run.
