Triple H Takes Over 205 Live, Vince McMahon No Longer Involved

According to PWinsider.com, Vince McMahon is no longer putting together 205 Live on a weekly basis. The change started last week with the beginning of the tournament for the vacant WWE Cruiserweight championship. Triple H, who was behind the cruiserweight classic, is now overseeing the show.

Vince McMahon had been personally working with the 205 Live stars to bring out their personalities and thought that a character-driven show was the best way to get the 205 Live brand over. That is why Enzo Amore was moved to the brand and made the champion. But many in the company argued that presenting the Cruisers similar to how the Cruiserweight Classic was presented was the right way to go.

Many aspects of the cruiserweight classic were dropped almost immediately from 205 Live after it debuted, including personality packages that had been produced to introduce viewers to the performers. They have been brought back over the last two weeks. McMahon finally made the decision to allow Triple H to take over as showrunner two weeks ago in an attempt to reboot and fix the brand. Triple H is said to be fully in charge, and lead writer for 205 Live is currently Jonathan Baeckstrom, who has been part of the company’s creative team since August 2013.
