Ring Warriors: A Mystery Yet to be Solved

Ring Warriors scored perhaps the best wrestling TV spot out there outside of WWE. While Impact Wrestling's going on 3 year relationship with POP TV has proved beneficial for both and Ring of Honor's myriad of local TV airings reaching wide audiences, the fact remans that WGN America simply reaches more households than the prior mentioned outlets can.

That does not, however, mean those households reached will tune in.

I think the biggest mystery about all of this is the unknown aspect of Ring Warriors. What will it look like? How will it feel? Can a company without the history or back catalog of Impact or ROH hit the TV airways on such a large scale and deliver the numbers expected by that station?

All of this remains to be seen. And, most old timers and haters are wishing it dead and assuming the worst before we'e even had a chance to view it. Afte all, a negative view is how you sound smart. YOu can thank the mainstream media for that in how they report on politics. But, I digress.

I did business with Ring Warriors in 2013 when we were given an interview with Jessie Neal formerly of Impact Wrestling. Not much came of them at that time and frankly I had forgotten the communication until they announced this blockbuster deal.

So, here is what I want to say.

Yes, this is a mystery. Yes, there is the fear of the unknown. But, I think all wrestling fans, including old timers and haters, need to give this a shot. If you hate it, hate it. But, hate it after you've given it the chance to SEE it.

Ring Warriors pulled off a coup. THey got the bestTV deal of any non WWE brand. At least, on the surface, it feels that way. Remember when the XWF had Hulk Hogan, Curt Hennig, the Nasty Boys, Road Warriors, and so on and so forth and could not get TV in 2001? Remember that Impact Wrestling was a PPV only company from 2002 to 2004? Do you know how many years ROH went without any logistical TV before HDNet and then Sinclair?

What Ring Warriors has pulled off is absolutely incredible. However it happened, and there must be a story in even that respect, it HAS happened. So, shut up! Relax! Give it a chance and maybe, just maybe, we'll have another great wrestling show to watch to add to our Impact, ROH, Lucha Underground, MLW, and beyond... Because, as is evidenced here, the rules are changing.
