Lucha Underground's Future on El Rey Reportedly in a Holding Pattern

With the 4th season of Lucha Underground finishing up last night, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, everything with Lucha Underground on El Rey is in a holding pattern. El Rey just named Mauricio Rios as its new Vice President of programming and acquisitions, replacing Dan Kozlowski, who was the guy who made the call to continue to keep Lucha Underground around. Following the loss of key investors after season three, El Rey made the call to finance the 4th season, but they had to tape in a short period of time and with a much lower budget. The feeling is that the show would continue with the smaller budget as long as El Rey wanted it, and safe with Dan Kozlowski in charge. But now with a new person in charge, things are said to be up in the air regarding the future of the show. But in what may be good news for Lucha Underground, El Rey under Rios plans to double the amount of original programming hours.
