The XFL held a press conference today in New Jersey, announcing the host cities and venues for the re-launch of the XFL. The governor of New Jersey opened the event and Vince McMahon then took over, stating that the XFL was ahead of its time. The XFL returns on February 8th and 9th of 2020.

Commissioner Oliver Luck then took over, noting that they plan to reimagine the game. They want fast–paced action with “more ball and less stall.” They want to compliment fall football, and half spoke with the NFL, former players, and other officials to plan out the league. They want speed with modified officiating and a faster play clock. They want a smooth in game flow, limiting timeouts, and simplifying rules. They are focusing on player safety and have extensively met with medical officials. Luck says they want to listen to fans and say they already have great ideas from them. The plan is for a family friendly and affordable product. They have locked in major insurers, each team will have identical salaries. The XFL has locked in major former NFL executives, and in the first quarter of 2019, they will identify team presidents and key players, including Doug Flutie.

Luck feels there is a deeper talent pool than ever before. Hundreds of players get cut from the NFL each year and they will be invited to try out, and there will be drafts & supplemental drafts. They have had conversations with major media outlets and will have news on distribution soon. They want to create a real partnership with their host cities. The cities are…

* Dallas (Globe Life Park, Arlington)
* Houston (University of Texas TCEDU Stadium)
* Los Angeles (Stub Hub Center in Carson)
* New York/New Jersey (MetLife Stadium)
* St. Louis (The Dome at America’s Center)
* Seattle (Century Link Field)
* Tampa Bay (Raymond James Stadium)
* Washington DC (Audi Field)

They had various officials from the cities appear and hype their involvement in the new XFL. Commissioner Oliver Luck closed things out and said that season tickets will be on sale through XFL.com.
