WWE Co-President George Barrios recently discussed whether the company considers All Elite Wrestling to be competition. As Wrestling Inc notes, Barrios was asked about whether AEW was competition for the company during a fireside chat at the 47th Annual J.P. Morgan Global Technology, Media and Communications Conference.

Barrios quoted Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, saying, “The best comment I’ve ever heard was from Reed Hastings who said, ‘Sleep is competition.’ He nailed it. You are competing for people’s time. So, whether it’s Fortnite, the NBA, Kung Fu novels – we are fighting for people’s time.”

He concluded, “So, everyone is a competitor at everything. So yeah, AEW has announced and welcome to the game.”

Barrios’ comments come as AEW is expected to have a TV deal announced to air on TNT during Turner and Warner Media’s upfronts presentation tomorrow. The deal is reportedly for AEW TV to air on Tuesdays.
