PAC No Longer Working AEW Events: Match with Hangman Page Pulled

Posted By James Walsh on 05/18/19

‘Hangman’ Adam Page made a surprise appearance at a Wrestle Gate Pro event in Nottingham, England today to confront PAC, and the two had a match. After it was over, PAC got on the mic and said that he was not going to show up at AEW Double or Nothing.

He said: “I wanted to hurt ya, to maim ya, to torture ya. And look, look! My work is done. So you can tell all of your little elite buddies, I’m not coming to Vegas! I’m not coming to Double or Nothing! And I’m not coming to AEW!”

The two were set to face off at the PPV, which happens on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will stream on B/R Live and traditional PPV for $49.95. The Buy-In pre-show will be available for free on B/R Live and AEW’s YouTube channel.

F4WOnline reports that the match between Adam Page and PAC has been officially pulled from AEW Double or Nothing due to “creative differences.” The angle between the two at Wrestle Gate was shot to explain why the match won’t be happening at next Saturday’s show. PAC will indeed no longer be on the show, as he said.

PAC reportedly takes his status as the Dragon Gate Open the Dream Gate champion seriously and has not wanted to lose since winning that title, so he hasn’t agreed to losing any matches since winning that title. To protect that, he’s went to 30 minute draws with Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay. Meanwhile, AEW wants to have a sports-like atmosphere and had their own direction for what they wanted out of the match.

AEW will reportedly release the PAC vs. Page match this week on the internet for free so everyone can see it, even if it has a DQ finish. Page agreed to fly to England and do the match to make up for it not happening on the PPV. He will wrestle at Double or Nothing against a new opponent, although that name likely won’t be revealed until the PPV itself. The DQ finish was made to keep things open ended in case PAC comes back at some point, but there is no word on if that will happen.

There will be at least one more announcement in the middle of the next week for the PPV on May 25.
