Plans For A Two-Night Wrestlemania in Dallas Reportedly Not Set In Stone

It was reported earlier this month that WWE was in the initial stages of making Wrestlemania 38 in Dallas a two-night event, as they had done for the previous two years. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan of holding a two-night event for Wrestlemania is not set in stone at this time.

WWE contacted AT&T Stadium with several different ideas that have been discussed. Another idea that was proposed was a Sunday Wrestlemania, and then a Monday episode of RAW with a 40,000 seat set up.

The two-night Mania on Saturday and Sunday is still in talks, though. They are looking into planning, security, insurance, cost of production and length of each show, as well as other locations for shows that weekend. Smackdown wouldn’t be able to be held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas that weekend, for example, because the Mavericks will be playing then. Smackdown before Wrestlemania is usually taped anyway so that is a possibility. It was noted that they may not want a taped Smackdown next year due to the deal with FOX.

WWe is also looking at Gerald Ford Stadium for RAW and Smackdown, which seats 32,000. They expect a lot of tourists in town for that weekend.
