WWE Planning on NFL Monday Night Football to Take Largest Ever Share of RAW Viewers

Over the years, television viewership for WWE RAW traditionally takes a hit in the fall against Monday Night Football competition. As previously noted, the September 11th 2023 edition of WWE RAW fell to record low viewership as the show drew an average of 1.353 million viewers on the USA Network with a 0.40 18-49 demo rating.

This year could see RAW take an even bigger viewership hit than usual. Due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood, ABC will be broadcasting the entire Monday Night Football season for the first time in 17 years. For tonight and next Monday, the NFL has two games that will be airing.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell gave the following statement to HollywoodReporter.com…

“NFL content is the best reality television going — I know people say I script the season, but I don’t. There’s going to be opportunities during this period of time, which is unfortunate, but it exists, and I think our content is going to have more opportunities during this fall season. It’s reliable content, and it’s reliable from an advertising standpoint.”
