Lex Luger’s WWE Hall of Fame induction is already a huge moment, but now, the conversation has shifted to who will have the honor of inducting him. One of the most popular names thrown around? Sting—and according to Eric Bischoff, WWE would have no issue making that happen.
During a live reaction video to Luger’s Hall of Fame announcement, Bischoff was asked if WWE would let Sting be the one to induct The Total Package. His response? Not only would WWE allow it, but they’d welcome it.
“Not only can I assure you WWE would—I don’t even like to use the word ‘allow’—WWE would welcome Sting to the Hall of Fame ceremony, particularly if that’s what Lex requested,” Bischoff said.
He also took a shot at the idea that WWE holds grudges against former AEW stars, dismissing online narratives that WWE would block Sting just because of his time with AEW.
“One of the false perceptions and impressions is that WWE is territorial… that, ‘Oh, he used to work for AEW, so we better not let him on our TV.’ Nobody thinks like that—really, they don’t.”
Whether Sting ultimately takes the stage to induct Lex Luger remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—WWE isn’t playing gatekeeper when it comes to honoring a legend. If Luger wants Sting, it sounds like the door is wide open. Now, it’s just a matter of making it happen.
