Nick Khan Reveals What Vince McMahon Didn't Publicly Admit
New testimony from WWE President Nick Khan has directly challenged Vince McMahon’s claims about the federal investigation that rocked the company. While McMahon told the public in early 2025 that the government inquiry was just about "minor accounting errors," Khan’s sworn deposition reveals a much darker reality, according to POST Wrestling.
Under oath, Khan confirmed that he became aware of federal search warrants and subpoenas that specifically listed $-- trafficking as a focus of the criminal investigation.
According to Khan, he learned the true nature of the probe when McMahon’s own lawyers shared the search warrants with WWE’s legal team. These documents, which allowed authorities to seize McMahon’s phone and other devices in 2023, reportedly included potential violations of $-- trafficking laws. Khan also noted that when he was interviewed by Department of Justice prosecutors, they asked him directly about $-- crimes in addition to how company payments were recorded.
The investigation centered on millions of dollars McMahon paid to former female employees to keep them quiet about allegations of $--ual misconduct. While McMahon eventually paid a $400,000 penalty to the SEC to settle the accounting side of the scandal, he has always denied any criminal behavior. However, Khan's testimony shows that McMahon’s legal team knew about the $-- trafficking focus years before McMahon released his statement downplaying the whole situation.
These revelations come from a lawsuit involving the merger that created TKO Group Holdings. While the Department of Justice eventually finished its investigation without filing criminal charges against McMahon, the details in Khan’s deposition align with a separate civil lawsuit filed by former employee Janel Grant. She has accused McMahon of $--ual assault and trafficking
