In what can't be seen as a sign of a healthy company, WOW - Women of Wrestling has been on a summer hiatus since May. And, we only just noticed.
WOW is the top wrestling company for all female wrestling in the United States. Presented by Paramount Media Group in conjunction with Jeannie Bus and David McLane, the modern wrestling product tries to bring together GLOW style campy wrestling with big characters and some modern wrestling style full of risk.
The past few years have seen WOW run 50 to 52 episodes per year starting in September and concluding in August. This season has 32 episodes only thus far with the promise of new episodes to return in August. It is unclear if they will do a full 50 to 52 episode season and have the season end at the end of the calendar year. Or, if this season simply will have far fewer episodes than in prior years.
The product is hot drawing between 200,000 and 400,000 viewers in syndication each week which puts it on par with AEW's ratings for Collision.
