Sol Ruca may have had Triple H in her corner after losing the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, but a new backstage report claims not everyone inside WWE shared that confidence.

Speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro claimed some people backstage weren’t impressed after finally getting an extended look at Ruca in a WWE ring, adding that many of them hadn’t really seen her work until she started making appearances on the main roster.
“I can tell you for a fact that they weren’t in love with what they saw from her in the ring. There are some wrestlers in NXT that some of these people in Gorilla don’t get a look at until they’re invited for a cameo appearance on the main roster. That’s what I’m saying. They don’t really get a look at some of these people until the Main Event tapings or when they make an appearance in a match on Raw or SmackDown. And in the case of Sol Ruca, some of these people didn’t get a look at her until those appearances on SmackDown and the John Cena retirement show.”
That report paints a very different picture from the one Ruca recently described herself. After dropping the Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Raquel Rodriguez on RAW, Ruca revealed that Triple H sought her out backstage because he didn’t want her thinking the loss reflected how WWE viewed her.
“Triple H came to me after the match and was like, ‘Hey, this isn’t because you’re doing anything wrong, but you just gotta be a babyface and keep going and see what the next thing is.'”

Ruca also made it clear she doesn’t think Rodriguez won the championship on her own. That’s why she’s already calling for another shot
“You know, I am upset about the loss. However, I do want to congratulate Raquel, but the thing is, she did not beat me. The Judgment Day beat me, sure, but it was a numbers game. If she wants to run it back, I’m fine, but it’s gonna be one-on-one.”

Triple H’s message to Ruca was that the title loss wasn’t about her performance. But the latest report suggests some influential opinions backstage may not have been nearly as positive after Ruca’s recent performances on the main roster.

The Undertaker isn’t just helping shape AAA behind the scenes—he says one of the promotion’s biggest recent storylines started with an idea he and Jeremy Borash came up with.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about his involvement in the Original El Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano rivalry, revealing that the concept was born in AAA’s creative meetings before Chad Gable and El Grande Americano took it to another level.
“Myself and Jeremy Borash had this idea, but El Grande and Chad Gable, man, they took the thought and the idea, and they really took it to a whole different level.”
Undertaker said his role didn’t stop once the story was mapped out. Before every major match, he made it a point to remind both men what was at stake and challenged them to raise the intensity every time they stepped through the curtain.
“There were some highly motivating speeches that I gave both of them before they would go out… I would reiterate to them how important what they’re about to go out and do is not only for AAA, but for their own personal careers. Trying to motivate them to do things differently and be more edgy, more aggressive, more violent, right? It took a while for that to set in, and for them to see my vision.”

That vision eventually led to one of AAA’s most talked-about rivalries, culminating in a Mask vs. Mask match at AAA Noche de los Grandes, where Chad Gable was finally unmasked as the Original El Grande Americano.
Undertaker also made it clear that the rivalry is just one example of the direction he wants AAA to head under WWE’s ownership. Rather than creating another version of RAW, SmackDown or NXT, he wants the promotion to have an identity all its own.

“My vision is, I want us to put out a product that is completely different from NXT, it’s completely different from SmackDown or Raw. I want it to be different from every other wrestling. That starts with storytelling, athleticism, and aggression. It’s a process, and everybody’s starting to buy into it and realizing that what we’re doing down there, it’s got the attention of the wrestling community.”
If Undertaker gets his way, the El Grande Americano rivalry may end up being remembered as more than just a successful storyline—it could be the blueprint for what AAA looks like under its new creative direction.
