Masha Slamovich Wins the MLW Women's Title from Shotzi

You always hear the term “Everyone deserves a second chance”. Well, I guess Masha Slamovich is getting hers.
Masha has been signed by MLW. For years she was a standout on the independent scene as well as TNA, where she was Knockouts Champion, but domestic abuse allegations involving her former partner AKIRA led to TNA opening an internal investigation and pulling her from programming. Her TNA contract later expired.
The allegations surfaced in September 2025, when AKIRA and a friend of his accused Slamovich of physical and emotional abuse during their relationship, with screenshots and photos being released online. Slamovich later responded by describing the relationship as “toxic and mutually destructive,” saying that they had hurt each other, taking responsibility for her own actions and apologizing to her former partner. TNA never publicly announced the result of its investigation.
At one time Masha was considered to be one of the future stars of the business, but the allegations and the fallout from them cast doubt on that. But she is only 28 years old, so there is plenty of time to resurrect her career after the past allegations.
Now Masha has been signed by MLW, and at the company’s September 12 tapings, she defeated Shotzi Blackheart to win the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship.
Are you fans looking forward to seeing her in MLW, as well as all the stars of MLW on Tubi, or do you see this as just a signing to create attention on the product for the minute?
