AEW's Return to the Road Not Impacting WWE's Plans to Do It After Summerslam

As previously noted, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced the company’s return to live touring for events starting with a set of AEW Dynamite TV tapings in July. The WrestleVotes reported more details on the topic today.

According to the report, sources have said that AEW’s plan to return to events with live, ticketed fans is not going to affect WWE’s own plans for returning to live touring. As of now, WWE’s plan is to apparently return to live touring with WWE SummerSlam 2021 in August. The report noted that this could change, since Vince McMahon and WWE officials like to be first in these types of matters.

As noted, SummerSlam 2021 is reportedly slated for Sunday, August 22, with the Madison Square Garden in New York City being considered as a possible host venue. WWE has not yet officially confirmed the date and plans for SummerSlam 2021 or a return to live touring for later this year.
