 WrestleMania, two midgets that went by the name of the Twin Towers; the four then discussed what the stipulation should be, with Triple H finally suggesting it be a 

Midget on a Pole match before the Rock interrupted; Rock then challenged the Big Show to a one-on-one bout with the stipulations being that if Rock won he would get a world title shot at WrestleMania and if Rock lost he would quit the WWF; Rock then stated tha

t there would be no interference from Triple H, Shane, and Stephanie and, if there was, Rock would win the match and get the title shot by default; Triple H then 

accepted the challenge; Jayson Williams from the New Jersey Nets was in attendance; featured footage from earlier in the day of the Mean Street Posse, Albert, 

and WWF Hardcore Champion Crash Holly fighting at the Newark Airport in which Pete Gas pinned Crash to win the title after hitting him with a piece of luggage; 

moments later, Crash pinned Pete and regained the title after hitting him with the weight scale, then ran out of the luggage area (WWF Hardcore):

Matt & Jeff Hardy defeated Al Snow & Steve Blackman when Matt pinned Blackman with an inside cradle at 3:20 immediately after Matt missed a top rope standing 

moonsault

Mark Henry fought WWF Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boyz to a no contest in a handicap match at around the 4-minute mark when, after hitting the 3D on Henry, the Dudleyz pushed the wheelchair-bound Mae Young to the top of the stage where Bubba Ray then hit a sit-down powerbomb from the stage through a table on the floor; earlier in the bout, Bubba Ray went backstage and found Mae in the dressing room, then brought her

 ringside; after the bout, Mae was attended to by Henry and EMTs, with her eventually being taken away in an ambulance; later in the broadcast, the Fabulous Moolah -

 who was supposed to be watching Mae in the dressing room - called Mae a bitch and said Mae had been trying to steal her spotlight

WWF European & IC Champion Kurt Angle defeated Chris Jericho and Tazz in a No DQ match at 3:14 by pinning Jericho after hitting him in the face with the Euro title

belt immediately after Jericho hit a springboard dropkick to send Tazz to the floor; as Tazz made his way to the ring, Tazz demanded the No DQ stipulation; moments 

prior to the finish, Chyna came to the ring to counter the interference of Bob Backlund; only the European title was on the line

WWF World Champion Triple H (w/ Stephanie McMahon), the Road Dogg, & X-Pac (w/ Tori) defeated Rikishi & Too Cool when Triple H pinned Rikishi at 5:03 after X-Pac hit Rikishi in the face with the timekeeper's bell as Rikishi attempted the Bonzai Drop

Kane pinned the Big Bossman with the chokeslam at 3:13 after avoiding being hit by Bossman's nightstick

Dean Malenko (w/ Eddie Guerrero) pinned WWF Light Heavyweight Champion Essa Rios (w/ Lita) to win the title at 4:15 by blocking a victory roll moments after 

Guerrero caught Lita coming off the apron with a hurricanrana and hit a powerbomb to the floor

The Acolytes (w/ Mideon) defeated Edge & Christian at 3:06 when Bradshaw pinned Edge with the Clothesline from Hell immediately after Edge hit the spear on 

an interfering Mideon; Terri, who came ringside before the bout began, distracted Christian during the cover so that he could not make the save; after the bout, Edge

 & Christian double clotheslined Mideon out of the ring

Chris Benoit & Perry Saturn defeated Test & Val Venis at 4:25 when Benoit pinned Test with a German suplex into a bridge after Eddie Guerrero, who was on the ring 

apron, hit Test in the face; Guerrero came ringside mid-way through the bout

The Rock pinned the Big Show with the Rock Bottom at 9:16, moments after Vince McMahon arrived to the arena, knocked down Triple H backstage, then came to the ring

, hit guest referee Shane McMahon over the head with a steel chair, and put on Shane's referee shirt to declare himself the new referee; prior to the bout, Shane McMahon

 came ringside and told referee Earl Hebner to leave the ring as he was the guest referee for the bout; due to prematch stipulations, Rock earned a world title shot for

 later, Kurt Angle, with Shane McMahon, came out to tell Foley why he should be #1 contender; Triple H, with WWF Women's Champion Stephanie McMahon, soon

 followed and did the same; eventually Foley announced that it would be Kurt Angle vs. Triple H vs. WWF World Champion the Rock at Summer Slam and that later in 

the night it would be Angle & Triple H vs. the Undertaker & the Rock; featured a backstage segment with the stars of "Highlander: Endgame" - Christopher Lambert, 

Adrian Paul, and Lisa Barbuscia - in which they came to say hi to Edge, who was also featured in the film, but were more excited to meet Gangrel than to hear Edge & 

Christian tell the story about winning the tag team titles at WrestleMania; included a trailer for "Highlander: Endgame"; featured Chris Jericho confronting Mick Foley 

backstage regarding wanting a match with Chris Benoit, with Foley saying he could have him at Summer Slam; included Jonathan Coachman conducting an interview

 with Victoria, one of the Godfather's hos who was put through a table by RTC on Monday and hospitalized, with Victoria saying she planned to sue Steven Richards

 for his actions:

Chris Benoit (w/ Shane McMahon) & WWF IC Champion Val Venis (w/ Trish Stratus) defeated Chris Jericho & Eddie Guerrero (w/ Chyna) at 3:37 when Benoit pinned

 Guerrero with the diving headbutt as Guerrero had Venis, the illegal man, covered following the frog splash; after the bout, Jericho briefly put Shane in the Walls of 

Jericho before eventually being locked in the Crippler Crossface by Benoit; moments later, Albert came ringside, caught Guerrero in a plancha to the floor, and rammed 

him into the steel ring post; Benoit broke the hold when referees swarmed the ring but briefly reapplied it before leaving the ring

Rikishi pinned X-Pac with the Bonzai Drop at around 3:45 after blocking a sunset flip out of the corner and hitting a sit-down splash

WWF European Champion Perry Saturn & Terri Runnels defeated Al Snow & the Kat at 2:46 when Saturn pinned Snow with a northern lights suplex after Kat hit Snow

 with Head; after the bout, Kat tackled Terri to the mat, with the two fighting with each other until Saturn pulled Kat off and Snow sent Saturn to the floor

The Dudley Boyz defeated WWF Tag Team Champions Edge & Christian via disqualification at 4:29 when Edge hit Bubba Ray in the back with a steel chair as D-Von went to pull a table out from underneath the ring; prior to the bout, the champions were given good luck by Christopher Lambert, Adrian Paul, and Lisa Barbuscia 

who sat ringside; after the bout, the Hardy Boyz threw the champions back inside the ring, with Edge then being crushed in-between two ladders by the Hardyz and sustaining a double aerial attack while Christian was put through a table via a Bubba Ray powerbomb off the top

Tazz fought Crash Holly to a no contest when, before the bout began, Jerry Lawler attacked Tazz from behind and the two fought in and outside the ring until they could

 be broken apart by officials; prior to Holly's entrance, Tazz argued with Lawler at the commentary table and ended up hitting him across the head with a metal water 

pitcher and busting him open

Bull Buchanon & the Goodfather (w/ Steven Richards) defeated Too Cool when Buchanon pinned Scotty 2 Hotty scissors kick off the top after Goodfather landed a

 kick to the midsection; Steven Richards did guest commentary for the bout

WWF Hardcore Champion Steve Blackman pinned Albert (w/ Trish Stratus) at 3:18 following a kendo stick blow to the head, from the ring apron to the floor; prior to

 the bout, Lawler returned ringside with his head bandaged; after the bout, Val Venis hit Blackman in the back with the kendo stick, with Albert then hitting the Baldo Bomb

WWF World Champion the Rock & the Undertaker defeated Triple H & Kurt Angle at 7:32 when Taker pinned Angle with the powerbomb moments after Triple H walked

 out of the match; early in the bout, WWF Women's Champion Stephanie McMahon came ringside to be in the corner of Triple H & Angle; after the bout, Rock attempted

 to hit the Rock Bottom on Stephanie but Triple H returned to the ring and made the save but eventually sustained a chokeslam from Taker and the People's Elbow from

WWF World Champion Kurt Angle & WWF Hardcore Champion Raven defeated the Big Show & Essa Rios when Raven pinned Rios following Angle's Olympic Slam; 

after the match, the masked woman aided Raven in attacking the Big Show until Show fought back by hitting the chokeslam on Raven as Angle ran backstage

The Rock (w/ Triple H & Stephanie McMahon) pinned Rikishi (w/ Steve Austin) with the Rock Bottom; after the match, Rikishi and Triple H double teamed the Rock until

 Austin hit the Stunner on Rikishi and had a face off with Triple H; due to prematch stipulations, Triple H earned the right to choose the stipulations for his match with

WWF European Champion Matt Hardy pinned Justin Credible at 7:03

Pay-per-view bouts – included Jim Ross & Paul Heyman on commentary; featured an opening segment in which Diamond Dallas Page came through the crowd to 

cut an in-ring promo saying he would beat the Undertaker in his own yard and the following night on Raw he would be the first WCW wrestler to step foot in Madison Square

 Garden; DDP then showed a sign he brought with him, which read "Make Me Famous" and with an arrow pointed towards him, and then took a ringside seat to 

await the Undertaker; included Heyman interviewing DDP at ringside, during which footage was shown on the big screen of DDP earlier in the day with the implication

 that the Undertaker was responsible for filming it; featured additional footage of DDP shot earlier in the day; included Billy Gunn at WWF New York in which he 

complained about being a former King of the Ring but not even getting a spot in this year's tournament; featured DDP cutting a second in-ring promo, after having to watch footage of himself throughout the show, in which he called out the Undertaker; moments later, footage of DDP arriving to the arena was 

shown with the camera person turning the lens around to show it was Sara, with she then saying it was time for DDP to become famous; moments later, the Undertaker 

came out and dominated a brawl over DDP for several minutes - with Sara coming out with a camcorder to record the confrontation - until Page eventually escaped

 through the crowd:

King of the Ring Semi-Final Match: Kurt Angle pinned Christian at 8:17 with an Olympic Slam into the ring after Shane McMahon, who came ringside late in the bout, pulled Christian out of the 

ring after he hit the Unprettier; it was later revealed Shane caused Angle to win the match so he would have to wrestle twice before their scheduled streetfight later 

in the night

King of the Ring Semi-Final Match: Edge pinned Rhyno at 8:54 with a DDT after Rhyno hit an exposed middle turnbuckle while attempting the Gore

WWF Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boyz defeated Spike Dudley & WWF IC Champion Kane at 8:33 when Bubba Ray pinned Spike with the 3D after D-Von avoided the Dudley Dog; after the bout, Kane hit a powerbomb on D-Von and a chokeslam through a table on Bubba Ray

King of the Ring Finals: Edge pinned Kurt Angle with a DDT at 10:20 after Shane McMahon came through the crowd and speared Angle after the referee was knocked 

down; prior to the bout, Angle cut an in-ring promo telling Edge the right thing for him to do would be to forfeit the match so that Angle could be fresh when he fought Shane later in the show, with Edge then 

attacking Angle in response; late in the bout, Christian briefly came ringside and accidentally distracted the referee as Edge had Angle covered

WWF Light Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy pinned X-Pac at 7:12 with the Swanton after shoving the challenger off the top; X-Pac originally won the match at 6:06 

with the X-Factor but the referee noticed the champion's foot on the rope and had the match continue (The Best of King of the Ring)

Kurt Angle pinned Shane McMahon in a streetfight at 25:58 following an Olympic Slam off the top, as Angle stood on a piece of wood laid across the top rope; late in 

the bout, Angle shattered part of the entrance stage by suplexing Shane through one area and then throwing him head-first through another; after the match, McMahon was helped backstage by referees (The Best of King of the Ring)

WWF World Champion Steve Austin defeated Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit at 27:50 by pinning Benoit when Benoit seemingly knocked himself out after dropping

 Jericho with a back suplex off the top; late in the bout, WCW World Champion Booker T came out of the crowd to attack Austin on the floor before putting him through

 the Spanish announce table and leaving back through the crowd when security came down to grab him; pre-match stipulations stated that if Austin lost the match his partnership with Vince McMahon would be over; rumors going into the match said that if Benoit or Jericho were

 to win they would jump to WCW with the championship (Benoit's last match for 13 months; Booker T's surprise debut)

a "Orton Knows Best" segment in which he brought out Hogan family lookalikes, dropped "Nick" and "Hulk" with the RKO and then kissed "Brooke;" moments later,

 as Randy and "Brooke" stared at each other, Randy suddenly slapped Jerry Lawler across the face; after the commercial break, Lawler challenged Orton to face him

 an attack from Finlay weeks earlier

 hit a fireman's carry into a forward roll on Carlito

Raw - featured an opening video package highlighting the results of the WWE World Title match at Backlash; included an in-ring promo by the new WWE World Champion Triple H regarding his return from injury in August and ending the 'Age of Orton' until he was interrupted by Randy Orton; 

after Orton complained the odds were against him at Backlash, he said he would get his rematch at Judgment Day; moments later, when Orton refused to leave the

 ring, Triple H hit him with the mic and knocked him to the floor, with Orton then demanding the title shot later in the show instead of at the pay-per-view; featured the announcement ECW World Champion Kane would face Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Bam Neely in a handicap match the following night on ECW; included

 Cade yelled at Murdoch before Murdoch grabbed the mic, stood on the commentary table, and sang a verse from Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places," with Cade

Paul Birchill & Katie Lea defeated Super Crazy in a handicap match at 2:00 when Katie scored the pin after Paul hit the Curb Stop; prior to the match, Katie announced 

William Regal had granted their request to make the bout a handicap match

WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes (w/ WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Hardcore Holly) pinned Santino Marella (w/ Carlito Caribbean Cool) with the DDT 

at 3:16; prior to the match, Marella cut an in-ring promo saying he didn't like New Jersey and didn't like 'The Soppranos' because of their fake Italian accents; after the bout, Rhodes cut an in-ring promo on Santino until Carlito came in behind him, dropped Rhodes with the Back Stabber, and then slid out of the ring before Holly was able to make the save

WWE World Champion Triple H fought Randy Orton to a no contest at around the 22-minute mark when, as Triple H had Orton in the Crippler Crossface, William Regal was shown in the director's truck complaining about how the fans didn't deserve

 to see the ending of the match because of how they disrespected him earlier in the show; moments later, Regal assaulted the director until he gave in to Regal's

 demands to take the show off the air; in footage shot exclusively for WWE Home Video, Regal appeared two minutes after the show went off the air and told the fans

 he would not be disrespected and stopped the bout after the champion hit a spinebuster on Orton; moments later, Triple H attacked Orton on the ramp, took him 

back to the ring, and dropped him with the Pedigree

Smackdown! - 1/2/09 - featured an opening in-ring announcement by Vickie Guerrero in which she announced WWE World Champion Jeff Hardy would defend against Edge at the Royal Rumble and that the 

Smackdown! stars who will be taking part in the Rumble match will be announced later in the show; moments later, Triple H appeared and argued she should go 

ahead and announce who would be in the Rumble match and that he should be in the match to guarantee a Smackdown! performer won; Triple H then said if a 

Smackdown! performer didn't win then Vickie would be seen as a weak GM, then pulled out her action figure to show how realistic it was; Vickie then told Triple H he 

was in the Rumble, with Triple H taking off the action figure's shirt and said it was hot; Triple H then said he went playing on the Internet earlier in the show and found

 nude photos of her on eBay; she eventually ran backstage after Triple H said the auction ended in 5 minutes and that he keeps getting outbid by someone named 

chavog2009; included a vignette promoting the return of Umaga; featured Eve conducting a backstage interview with Michelle McCool regarding her losing the WWE

 Divas Champion the previous week to Maryse and then attacking guest referee Maria after the bout, with Michelle claiming Maria cost her the title; included a backstage 

segment with Edge, Big Show, and Vickie in which they discussed Vickie's photos on eBay; after Vickie left, Show and Edge traded words; featured a "Did you know?"

 graphic which read WWE is watched by more than 15 million people every week in the US; included a look at the props used in "Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia;" 

included an in-ring segment in which Jim Ross announced that Triple H, the Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov, and WWE US Champion Shelton Benjamin would help make up the Smackdown! 

contingent at the Rumble; moments later, Benjamin interrupted and corrected Ross' announcement by saying he should have named him the odds-on winner; Ross then left the ring as Benjamin cut a promo on having held the belt 6 months and that he would leave WrestleMania as WWE World Champion; Benjamin

 then said Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Finlay, or R Truth couldn't compare to him; moments later, the voice of the Undertaker was heard saying "I think you forgot 

someone;" the lights then went out and when they came back on Taker was in the ring; Taker then hit the chokeslam on Benjamin; featured a vignette promoting the 

debut of Kizarny later in the show; included an in-ring promo by McCool in which she said Eve was right and Maria deserved an apology; McCool then asked Maria, who was not in the building, to accept her apology; 

she then asked Eve to come out so she could apologize to her in person; Eve then appeared and accepted McCool's apology; after the two hugged, Eve went to go 

backstage but was jumped from behind by McCool; McCool then assaulted Eve around ringside, ending by throwing her into the ringpost, until referees came out to

 stop it; featured a backstage segment with Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Vickie in which Triple H appeared, with Vickie saying Triple H would compete the following week

 in a tables match, handicap match, and last man standing match; included the announcement that WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo Colon

hitting the tree slam on Ryder and the chop to the head on Hawkins; after the bout, Finlay & Hornswoggle attacked the opponents with Finlay dropping Hawkins with

The Brian Kendrick & Ezikial Jackson defeated Jesse & Festus at 4:43 when Jackson pinned Jesse with a uranagi after making the blind tag

Vladimir Kozlov pinned Hurricane Helms at 4:02 following the headbutt to the chest and uranagi

Kizarny pinned MVP at 6:27 with a double arm DDT into a float over; prior to the bout, a degected MVP, without his trademark necklaces, asked his opponent to come 

on in so he could get it over with already; MVP was cheered during the bout and Kizarny booed; after the match, Ken Kennedy came out, told MVP not to let the loss get

 to him, and then plugged his new movie, "Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia" (Kizarny's TV debut)

WWE World Champion Jeff Hardy & ECW World Champion Matt Hardy defeated Edge & the Big Show at 14:23 when Jeff pinned Edge following the Twist of Fate / 

Swanton combo; prior to the bout, Edge cut a promo on everything the fans blame him for, then adding they could blame him once Jeff loses his title; late in the bout, 

Show walked out of the match

Smackdown! - 1/9/09 - featured the announcement that WWE World Champion Jeff Hardy and his fiancee Beth had been involved in a car accident overnight near 

Jeff's home of Cameron, NC; the Beth featured in the segment was not Hardy's fiancee; included police dashcam footage from the scene in which Hardy said the 

wreck was caused by someone speeding behind him; featured Taz conducting a backstage interview taped earlier in the day with Edge regarding Jeff's wreck, during 

which Edge said he felt bad for Jeff and that he wished he and his fiancee the best; included a look at the action scenes in "Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia;" featured

 a vignette showing Vladimir Kozlov in training; included Ken Kennedy as a guest of the VIP Lounge in which Kennedy plugged his movie before telling MVP that both

 he and the fans have had enough of MVP's losing streak; moments later, a production crew came out to repossess MVP's set; Kennedy then told MVP that things 

could always be worse; after Kennedy left ringside, the Boogeyman appeared and hit the pumphandle slam on MVP; featured a "Did you know?" graphic which read

Triple H defeated WWE Raw Tag Team Champion John Morrison (w/ WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Mike Mizanin) in a tables match after throwing Morrison off the

 top and through a table on the floor; after the contest, Triple H knocked Mizanin off the apron but was attacked from behind by Chavo Guerrero Jr., who threw Triple H 

through a table in the ring; following the commercial break, Vickie Guerrero confronted Triple H backstage to remind him of the other matches he had scheduled that 

night

The Undertaker pinned WWE US Champion Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match at 12:35 with the tombstone after catching Benjamin attempting to jump over Taker in the corner

Brie & Nikki Bella defeated Michelle McCool & Victoria at 3:24 when Victoria was pinned with an Oklahoma side roll after missing a moonsault; after the match, 

Michelle attacked Victoria and laid her out for losing the contest
