As seen during the September 3rd 2025 edition of AEW Dynamite, there was an injury angle involving Kenny Omega. After Kyle Fletcher gave Omega a brainbuster through a table, Omega was placed in a neck brace and taken out of the building on a stretcher.

Omega returned for the October 1st edition of Dynamite but was then attacked by the returning Andrade. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, it’s believed that Omega will be facing Andrade at WrestleDream instead of Fletcher. Meltzer noted the following about the situation…

“There is a reason that right now they aren’t going to do the match, as basically in a normal situation that would have been the match booked but Omega’s physical situation is not 100 percent and the feeling was it was better right now not to put Omega in the situation of the kind of a match he’d be expected to do with Fletcher. I was basically told in a perfect world that would be the match to do on this show, but it’s not a perfect world.”
