Last month, we reported that AEW's deal with Jazwears for their action figure line was in jeopardy. Well, we were right and also incorrect.
As it turns out, AEW's deal with the toy brand will continue through the end of 2026. However, it appears that will be the end of the deal. It was originally believed the dal would end at the end of 2025. But, that is not the case.
AEW started releasing action figures in 2020 and they were initially hot items. But, producing multiple of their biggest stars and the shelf-warming nature of the stars people aren't that keen on resulted in the line being damaged. For example, you can still pick up Riho action figures at many locations on clearance for as little as $1. The Walmart Exclusive Hangman Adam Page was sold off in clearance for 1/10th what it originally was listed for. And, Nyla Rose and Thunder Rosa did not fair much better.
It is unclear if AEW will go with a secondary market toy company once their deal ends. They had been doing work with the Major Wrestling Figures Podcast company Big Rubber Guys doing LJN style action figures from the 1980's WWE. WWE then responded by releasing their own retro style LJN figures with the ability to use the LJN name. Hulk Hogan's figure, in particular, is on back order for a year to this day.
We shall see where AEW goes next.
